I am interested in a position as a 3D animator. I have been interested in animation and its mechanics since my father introduced me to 'Star Wars, with Phil Tippet and Dennis Murens animation. During high school my brother and I created animated shorts with clay, for class projects. When I saw what a computer did in 'The Abyss with one of the first Digital characters, I began learning as much as I could about computer animation.

SoftImage and Maya were the software packages used to create the animations on the demo reel. I am experienced with setting up inverse and forward kinematics. In my final animation I incorporated the benefits of both. For the Alien King animation I skinned the character using a soft bind, and had an assortment of nurb influence objects to fill out areas overlooked in a soft bind. I used set driven keys on these influence objects to convey an assortment of secondary motion such as breathing and flexing, discreet, but important in depicting a living character. I wrote an expression for the walk of my character, which was a blessing, yet also a hindrance.

I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design, with a B.F.A. in Computer Art: 3D Character Animation. I am a hard worker that knows how to get results and takes pleasure in seeing the final outcome of that work. I have enjoyed watching computer games for most of my life. From Bards tale and the King's Quest series to todays first person shooters and MMORPG. I also have many interests other than computers. I play in an amateur baseball wood bat league, mountain bike and Kayak the Potomac River.

Sincerely,
